We had the most wonderful time last week and were so sad to go on Saturday 14th. Eight grownups, eight sad faces. We laughed, we danced, we ate, we drank, but most of all we relaxed. The house is superb and seems to carry it's own kind of magic that each and everyone of us fell deeply in love with. We watched the Hummingbird Moth feast on the Lavender, the Short Toed Eagle hunting for lunch and the Hares running through the fields. One night we went to close the front doors and there were two deer grazing on the lawn - magical. Eymet, Bergerac, Issigeac, Proymessac and yes we went down in the basket. Beynac all stunning places - we will be back 😍😍

23rd Sept to 30th Sept

We have had an absolutely lovely week.  The house is so welcoming we felt at home straight away.  We have a toddler with us so have spent most of our time chilling by the pool and eating, which has been a pleasure with such a lovely kitchen.  We have managed to visit a couple of local places when the weather was not so great and had a yummy meal at the Italian in Eymet one night.  All in all a wonderful, relaxing holiday.

Many thanks from NM and Family  :)

3rd Sept to 17th Sept 17

We have had an amazing 2 weeks holiday.  The grounds and house are just perfect for having the most relaxing holiday we have had in a long time.  The area is beautiful, too many places to visit so will definitely return to this stunning location.  Sonia and Jim have thought of everything to make your stay just perfect, in a beautiful home with all the luxury you will need.  "Perfect hosts", nothing more we could have wished for.

Thank you both for an amazing holiday

What a lovely place.  Clearly this is a much loved home and that is reflected in the ambience of the house.  It is beautifully converted, homely and very practical.  We had a lovely time.   We know the area very well and have had great fun visiting places from our childhood and later.

Thank you

Jim is the perfect host and this property is a gem! I can't fault a single thing. A group of 6 adults stayed here for a week and none of us wanted to leave. The property is beautiful in an idyllic setting, with a fantastic pool and everything you could need for a relaxing week away. I'd go back and stay here in a heartbeat. Thank you so much!

Had a lovely stay, just as we remembered.  Experienced a French wedding during our middle weekend and had a great time.  Eymet has a lovely Pizza restaurant and Issigeac has a great Sunday market, when walking around don’t forget to look up.

I must say a perfectly wonderful way to spend a week.  We lovely every aspect and rarely left the property.  Next time we will explore a little more but the two markets provided a great couple of mornings out.  Thanks you so much for giving us the opportunity to have our first family holiday.

"We have had a fabulous week, the house is beautiful and the outside area fantastic. It has also been lovely to have our dog here with us, all in all a very relaxing and enjoyable week.

Recommendations: A bit of a drive but St Emilion is well worth a visit. We visited a few vineyards and our favourite was Domaine De Cavaroque, lovely wine and very welcoming. The Italian restaurant in Eymet was very nice and well worth a visit.  Thanks for a great week.

What a lovely place to stay. The house and barn are huge and there is absolutely everything that you are likely to need. The welcome fizz and croissants were very welcome and filled a gap while we explored. As there were only the two of us we settled for the barn king size double on the mezzanine floor above the lounge. Sonia and Jim have thought of everything from a choice of duvets to chargers for the mobile phones. There is even a reliable wireless internet! The pool was chilly the first couple of days (but this was May) but quickly warmed up to 28°C and it was spotlessly clean just like the whole of the gite. It was so quiet and had great views over the surrounding countryside. We could hardly believe that we are only just over 2 hours from Southampton and that includes picking up the hire car from Buggs and some provisions from the handy shop and the superb boulangerie at Bouniagues. We had a birthday cake made for some friends that were in the area and it was a work of art!
There are lots to do in the area and we can recommend a visit to the local vineyard Domaine Du Siorac. And if you go on a Saturday you can have a tour around. Be prepared this is almost 2 hours but well worthwhile.
We visited Duras where there is a chocolate factory - Chocolats Guinguet. During July and August they do tours around the factory otherwise it’s just a tasting experience as they have samples of all the different chocolates for you to try before you buy. They are lovely.
There is also Chateau de Duras that sits high above the river Dropt which is a super place to look around.  The Sunday market at Issigeac was a great place to buy local produce and crafts especially your vegetables and cheese and enjoy a leisurely coffee and croissant in the square. There is also a market at Eymet on Thursday where there is an excellent Italian restaurant - Restaurant Italien des Arcades. Try the profiteroles – heaven!
Don’t forget everywhere shuts down on a Sunday in France.

We had a wonderful time at Les Deux Marronniers and can’t wait to go back later in the year.
